Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 28 (Reporter Wei Hongyi and Zhang Xinxin) The reporter was informed on the 28th that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued a new version of the "Regulations of the People\'s Republic of China on the Division of Radio Frequencies", which will be officially implemented on July 1. According to the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the newly revised division regulations are the first in the world to divide the 6GHz frequency band for 5G/6G systems.
The 6GHz band is the only high-quality resource of large bandwidth in the mid-band, taking into account the advantages of coverage and capacity, which is particularly suitable for 5G or future 6G system deployment, and can play the advantages of the existing mid-band 5G global industry. The determination of its rule status in the form of regulations is conducive to stabilizing 5G/6G industry expectations, promoting the global or regional division of 5G/6G spectrum resources, providing the necessary mid-band frequency resources for the development of 5G/6G, and promoting the innovation and development of mobile communication technology and industry.
In addition to dividing the 6GHz frequency band for 5G/6G systems, the revision of the division provisions will also play a role in ensuring the safety of frequency use such as major aerospace projects and regulating and guiding the development of the automotive radar industry. Specifically, the new version defines interference protection for satellite earth exploration, space research, radio astronomy and other radio services in the relevant frequency bands and parts of the region, providing regular protection for the use of frequencies in major space projects and scientific research. At the same time, this revision makes clear that the radio positioning service in the 79-81ghz band will give priority to applications such as automotive radar, reserve spectrum resources for the application of automotive intelligent technology and industrial development, and support the long-term development of the automotive industry.
With the official implementation of the new version of the division regulations on July 1, 2023, the old version of the Radio Frequency Division Regulations of the People\'s Republic of China announced on February 7, 2018 will be repealed at the same time.
