From Sales-Oriented to Production-Driven: Centuries-old German Firm Amazone Expands Further in Wuqing Development Area
On August 18, the signing ceremony for Phase Ⅱ of the Amazone agricultural machinery manufacturing capacity-expansion project was held in the Wuqing Development Area. This signing marks a major achievement for Wuqing Development Area in deepening Sino-German industrial cooperation and strengthening its high-end agricultural equipment sector. It also serves as a key initiative to advance the quality upgrading of regional modern agriculture and smart manufacturing.
Founded in 1883 and headquartered in Osnabrück, Germany, the Amazone family-owned group manufactures agricultural machinery including combined tillage implements, disc harrows, power-driven harrows, press wheels, seed drills, precision pneumatic seed drills, mounted sprayers, trailed sprayers, mounted and trailed fertilizer applicators, as well as municipal machinery such as lawn-care equipment and winter grit spreaders. For more than a century, the group has adhered to the craftsmanship ethos of "Made in Germany". Specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of agricultural and municipal equipment, it has remained a global industry leader with superb workmanship and cutting-edge technologies.
In 2014, Amazone Invest GmbH (Germany) set up Amazone Agricultural Machinery (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. within the Wuqing Development Area, focusing on the warehousing and sales of agricultural machinery. Since its establishment, the company has taken root in Wuqing, achieved steady growth, and deepened its market presence. Backed by high-quality products and services, it has continuously expanded its domestic footprint, registering sales revenue of RMB 150 million in 2025 and demonstrating strong development resilience and promising prospects.
The newly signed Phase Ⅱ capacity-expansion project of Amazone agricultural machinery manufacturing leases an additional 3,400 m² of production and operation space within Wuqing Development Area on the basis of its existing plant. It will transform the original warehousing and sales-oriented factory into a comprehensive smart manufacturing base integrating production, warehousing and sales. Focusing on localized R&D and manufacturing of high-end agricultural machinery, the project will precisely cater to domestic and overseas agricultural production demands and effectively address shortcomings in the regional high-end agricultural equipment manufacturing sector. Upon full operation, the project is projected to generate an annual output value exceeding RMB 200 million, injecting fresh momentum into the growth of Wuqing’s high-end equipment industry.
