Century-old German Company Unveils New Strategy, Continues to Invest in Wuqing Development Area
On June 10, Krone celebrated its 120th anniversary and held a China Strategy Launch Conference in Wuqing. At the event, Krone officially released its new China market strategy, announcing additional investments in the Wuqing Development Area. Building on this new milestone, the company will deepen its localization efforts and help upgrade China's high-end agricultural machinery industry.
Founded in 1906 in Spelle, Lower Saxony, Germany, Krone operates two business divisions – commercial vehicles and agricultural machinery – serving over 70 countries and regions worldwide. As a global leader in forage harvesting equipment, Krone manufactures more than 260 product models, including self-propelled forage harvesters, mowers, rakes, tedders, round balers, large square balers, and mobile pelletizers, covering the entire forage harvesting process. Leveraging a century of technological expertise, Krone equipment continues to drive global innovation in mechanized forage harvesting, thanks to its outstanding operational efficiency, reliable product quality, and intelligent, innovative design.
In 2016, Krone formally entered the Chinese market, choosing the Wuqing Development Area as the location for its China headquarters, establishing Krone (Tianjin) Machinery Co., Ltd. Over the past decade in China, the company has actively pursued a localized development strategy, building a nationwide distribution network and a fast-response after-sales service system. It has also assembled a professional technical service team to provide end users with full-cycle support, from equipment selection to field operations. These efforts have effectively boosted the mechanization and modernization of forage harvesting in China, injecting vitality into the development of modern agriculture.
At the conference, Bernard Krone, the fourth-generation head of the Krone family, extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to all attendees. He stated that after 120 years of development, Krone has always remained committed to craftsmanship and innovation. During its decade in China, the company has precisely aligned with the needs of China's agricultural development, earning high recognition and praise from partners and end users through its strong product performance and quality service. Martin Eying, Chairman of the Board of Krone Group, reviewed Krone's development history and elaborated on the Group's global industrial footprint and core business strengths. He noted that China is a critically important market in Krone's global strategy. Huo Hongyan, General Manager of Krone China, unveiled the new China strategic plan on site. According to the plan, the company will invest RMB 19.6 million to expand its production base in the Wuqing Development Area, transforming its previous single supply chain management model into a diversified, integrated supply chain approach. In the future, Krone will focus on China's agricultural machinery market segments, customizing products and optimizing solutions based on users' actual needs to build differentiated core competitiveness. The company will continue to deepen sales channels, optimize product portfolios, strengthen brand reputation, and enhance user engagement, striving to become a trusted benchmark brand in China's silage and forage machinery sector.
